Areas of service include: outpatient services (including assessment, individual and group counseling) and intensive outpatient.

Purpose

It is the mission of Community Substance Abuse Services to reduce the problems of substance use, abuse, and addiction through:

• Provision of prevention and education services that decrease the potential for substance use, abuse, and addiction and reduce the stigma attached to those problems in the community.
• Provision of treatment and supportive services to help persons affected by alcohol and other drugs and related disorders achieve individual maximum potential in life.

Philosophy

Community Substance Abuse Services views problems with substance (alcohol and other drugs) as a continuum from problem use to addiction or dependency and that these problems affect individuals, families and the community.  We believe that prevention, early intervention, and treatment services are needed to respond to the problems and the causes of the problems are complex including physical, emotional, social and spiritual reasons. 

Dependence, whether alcoholism or addiction to another drug, is viewed as a disease with abstinence as a goal of choice.  We are client-centered, believing that affected persons and families have a capacity and ability to change and that our job is to assist them in developing a personal program of recovery.  Programs are based on the idea that recovery is a process for some clients.  Our job is to help clients nurture willingness to change and assist them in finding the skills and direction they need to sustains the change. 

Population Served

The outpatient and prevention services are designed for residents within driving distance of the outpatient service site in Kingsford, Michigan.  Both females and males are served.  Adolescents may be seen for outpatient services but would be referred if a specialized program is needed and available.

Methods of Payment

We are now accepting Visa and Mastercard credit cards as well as cash. 

If you have private insurance that will pay for your substance abuse services, payments need to be made by you and a receipt will be given to submit to your insurance company.  we do not directly bill private insurance.
