Outpatient Treatment Goals
It is our belief that
there are several treatment goals, which must be addressed within the
program and to assist in the continuum of care upon completion.
Some of these goals include:
- Develop an understanding and acceptance of the illness of
chemical dependency.
- Recognize defensive behaviors, which are associated with the
illness.
- Develop an understanding of out emotions and feelings and to
express them in a more open and honest manner.
- Develop and maintain a chemically free lifestyle.
- Develop an understanding of self-help support groups.
- Develop social and recreational alternatives to meet self-worth
needs for a recovering lifestyle.
- Recognize that the responsibility for recovery lies within the
individual and to begin to develop a personal recovery program.
Program Phases
- Screening- Staff reviews information from the referral
source and meets with the potential client to determine the need for
treatment.
- Evaluation- This phase can last up to three (3) hours.
During this time the client is involved in a variety of assessment
procedures.
- Treatment Plan- This formal document drafted by the staff
and client outlines treatment objectives and goals.
- Treatment- It is a series of individual meetings and
classes on aspects of the disease.
- Aftercare- Is a joint plan drafted by staff and client
that develops an effective support system for recovery and continues
the work of treatment.
- Follow-Up- Is a contact made during the first year after
treatment to assess the client's progress in growth.
